Alyssa and her friend, Emma, spent a few hours fishing for bass at a small pond. This was the first time Emma went fishing and she had great beginner's luck, landing a nice bass on ultralight tackle.

The girls had a great time slinging lures all over the place. I was kept busy untangling snarled lines, swapping out lures and avoiding flying hooks. They had a few more hits but this was the only fish landed today.

EQUIPMENT: Ultralight rods with 4-pound Vanish fluorocarbon line. Gamakatsu worm hooks and Yamamoto Senkos in brown and black. Bass loved the brown.
