I went out this afternoon to fish near a stream that enters the flats. I hooked this enormous Nunu (Pacific trumpetfish or pipefish). I couldn't get the whole thing in the photo so I draped it across my stripping box to give you some reference of size. It was a great fight but it slimed my box - gross!
Not much other action. I tried fishing on the dropping tide in the morning but did not get any strikes or see any fish. I would go again tomorrow but the Honolulu Marathon will have most beach access blocked.
