A report from Eric for mikescatchreport.com
I had a few free hours before I had to meet the family at the Swap Meet so I headed out to the flats for some fly fishing.
I arrived at the park at 5:30am and started my long stroll down the beach--I wanted to fish my way back to the parking lot. The sun was rising and the winds were calm. I was using my 10 weight rod and my Lamson Litespeed reel.

I walked out to a spot where I had caught bones before and started to cast. After five tries I had a fish on and this one took me into the backing a little. I fought the fish in and released it.
I walked 20 yards down the flats and hooked and released another fish that weighed 3 1/2 pounds. I saw another fly guy fishing the inside flats but he seemed to have no luck as far as I could see.

I didn't have much more time to fish so I decide to head back to where I caught the first bone. I made two cast and “Bam,” another bone! This one took me into my backing again and I knew this one was not going to break me off because we were far from the breakers. The fish gave me a good fight and I brought this one in. It weigh in at 6 pounds. It was another good day of fishing on the flats.
