A report from Eric for mikescatchreport.com
I went out to fly fish for bonefish on the nearby flats for a few hours this morning.

I made a few casts and hooked into a three pound bonefish, which the rod and reel handled easily. However the other bonefish put up a better fight. It ran me across the flats and pulled line and backing off the Abel reel I was using. I tightened down the drag a lot and was wondering if I had enough backing to stop this fish when it finally gave in and turned.

When I finally landed the fish it weighed in at seven pounds.

EQUIPMENT: Eric uses an 8 or 9 weight rod, floating lines, heavy leaders and tippet and an assortment of custom flies from 1/0 to size 10 tied for use in this area.
