A report from SteveL

I went outi today around 5pm. The first place I started to fish became too deep on the rising tide so I shifted over to another section of the flats a few hundred yards down the coast. I caught this 6.5 pound o'io (bonefish) just as the sun was setting with the 6 weight fly rod I made. That was fun!

The fish ran me into the backing three times and just refused to be landed for at least 10 minutes.

Because the water was slightly murky from the rising tide and there was low light I used a bright colored fly although any light colored fly would have worked.

I was overlining the rod with an Orvis WF-7-F Hy Flote saltwater line on my Lamson Velocity reel.
