Jin and I had a free afternoon on New Year's Eve so we spent a few hours casting to stocked rainbows on the lower half of Holmes Run.

We threw the fly box at them and got no hits. The trout were there, but not interested in biting. We think it might have something to do with Lake Barcroft Dam turning down the water flow. It was running way slower and a lot lower than a week ago.

EQUIPMENT: We used 3 and 4-weight rods with floating lines and standard leaders. We threw everything but they weren't interested. Better luck in 2008!
